This week we ‘quietly’ launched our new brand logo, which was carefully thought through and we love the results and have had amazing feedback. The company was launched in 2006 and ever since then, Mark Punton, who founded the company has carefully managed to keep a ‘low profile’! – So it is only fitting that Ebury Trading (or ET) is promoted as a brand name.
It has been used throughout our social media presence including, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, Flickr, Blog, Pinterest, Etc Etc.
The colours are an amalgamation of the ‘house colours’ on our website and blog. We will incidentally be having this colour mixed to be used in certain areas within our store next week.
We wanted something iconic and bold which was clean, youthful and fresh, but somewhere in there is hidden a message. We are antiques dealers, and so the inverted ‘E’ is a stylised version of an ancient Greek letter. Mark’s training, background and influences are in the Classical World and anyone with a basic knowledge of history and design, will know that almost everything we see today in architecture, furniture design and interiors come from the Classical World.
The other hidden subtext in the logo is a Russian letter of the alphabet, which is also an inverted ‘E’. As some of you know, Sasha Alexander has increasingly become an important part of the Ebury Trading team, and as a native of Saint Petersburg, I thought it appropriate as an influence.
We thank you for your continued support, interest and belief in what we do.
