An Exquisite Irish Country House Gun Cabinet in the Italian Baroque manner. In three sections and carved out of solid elm, the carving and detail is of a high quality. This piece was purchased from a family in Co Wexford in Ireland, who have it in their country seat since the early 19th Century where it was commissioned after a ‘Grand Tour’ trip to Italy. The base which has beautiful hairy paw feet contains a lockable cupboard with shelving. The upper gun cupboard contains four cartridge drawers and provision for six rifles. It has its original red velvet interior. . .
