In light of the pre-launch, preview lunch on Wednesday 2nd February 2011, I would like to introduce ‘The Collective’, a newly formed group of well established furniture and lighting specialists who are opening within HRW Antiques premises located at 26 Sulivan Road, London SW6 3DX – conveniently located a stone’s throw from the ‘Mecca’ of interior design, Chelsea Harbour.
Iain Henderson Russell, owner of HRW has carefully selected this group of companies to share space in his 6,000sq ft premises – “Many interior designers and private collectors are now using a combination of modern and antique furniture, lighting and decorative arts in their projects and homes. ‘The Collective’ at HRW is responding to this trend by offering a varied and extensive collection of quality furniture and lighting. Our aim is to be able to supply something original and different to compliment every design project.”
The dealers who will be opening at ‘The Collective’ in March alongside HRW include Houghton Furniture Company, Ebury Trading, Restall Brown & Clennell, Bronze d’Art Francais and Sir William Bentley Billiards.
HRW Antiques – has been operating for the past 20 years and has one of the largest collections of 18th and 19th century English and Continental furniture in the country. Its owner Iain Henderson Russell combines an in-depth knowledge of furniture with a flair for interior design and can assist his clients, whatever their budget, to find the perfect piece of furniture for their home or office.
Houghton Furniture Company – this collection is based on original 18th century furniture at Houghton Hall, Norfolk and is all made under the supervision of cabinet maker John Ives from sustainable wood. Newly launched is the Houghton ‘Deco’ collection inspired by the Art Deco period of the 1920s and 1930s.
Ebury Trading – Antique chandelier and lighting specialists, they also sell furniture, artwork and other decorative items from the 18th century through to the 20th century. Also specialises in mid 20th century Milanese decorative arts including furniture by designers such as Paolo Buffa, Carlo De Carli, Osvaldo Barsani, Marco Zanuso and Domenico Ico Parisi.
Restall Brown & Clennell – founded in 1905 in East London, RB&C boast a long and prestigious heritage. They offer three main furniture collections including Traditional, Classically Inspired and Art Deco alongside a comprehensive bespoke design service which includes yacht furniture. The head office is in Lewes, Sussex and HRW Antiques is the only London showroom
Bronze d’Art Francais – are specialists in the reproduction of bronze chandeliers ,lamp bases, candle sticks, sconces and lanterns from the 17th century to modern day. They are also specialist in all things bronze. Bronze d’Art have showrooms in Moscow and now London. They have 12 craftsmen based in Lyon who put their artisan know-how into the service of their clients, whatever the commission.
Sir William Bentley Billiards – are makers and restorers of the world’s most beautiful billiard, snooker and pool tables. Sir William Bentley Billiards regularly works with top interior designers to create rooms and furnishings to reflect individual tastes. From the table itself, to matching chairs and cabinets they can accommodate any requirements from the handsome classic to the strikingly contemporary. Lighting can be chosen from a selection of rare and beautifully restored antiques to art deco or contemporary chrome and stainless steel.
