It is time again for the spring decorative fair! As usual it takes place in the exhibition hall in Battersea Park. Parking is available there and a shuttle bus and taxi service is running from Sloane Square.
It starts on Tuesday the 21st and ends on Sunday the 26th of April. For opening times and a full list of exhibitors, you can check out the decorative fairs website here:
The Battersea fair is now one of the country’s most important exhibitions for interiors and there are over 130 exhibitors this year and as ever, it promises to be a very exciting fair.
The theme in the foyer for this fair is ‘The English Club Room’ The display will feature all items one might associate with a classic gentleman’s bolt-hole: a complete Victorian billiard room, comfortable leather seating, a library area, sporting and gaming memorabilia, drinks-related items and associated decorative touches. All items will be offered for sale from exhibitors at the Fair, and will provide a perfect antidote to minimalism, offering some superb trappings of a comfortable lifestyle that has been appreciated for centuries.
Once again our friends Quindry will be exhibiting their mid 20thc style icons! so do mention our name to Gwenola Pilard if you are going, Gwen runs Ebury Trading when I’m not around and she now has a space within the store exhibiting her 20th Century pieces. If you would like a complimentary ticket then please let me know . . . . . please use the fair as the perfect excuse to call in to us on the Ebury Bridge Road , refreshments are always available.
Also this fair will be my first since I was appointed as an official ‘vettor’ for the fair. The organisers of the fair are hoping that my knowledge of antique lighting might prove useful – I *do* hope so!
The Ico Parisi sofa below, exhibited at the fair, is available to view in our store
